Lauren & Matthew celebrated their wedding at Kelham House; a stunning wedding venue in Nottinghamshire. Their intimate wedding with their closest family & friends started with them getting ready at Kelham House. Lauren was on the bottom floor while Matthew was on the top floor with his boys. Lauren did her own makeup, and her younger sister did her hair.

They tied the knot at Newark Castle, which was a short drive away. Lauren’s stepfather led the ceremony.

We used the historical backdrop of Newark Castle for thier group photos, as well as some of their portraits.

Kelham House is across the road from Kelham Hall ( another incredible venue ) and we headed back their for more of their portraits. Their April wedding had the perfect spring weather, with floral trees in bloom.

Their evening was full of laughs & dancing. It was such a pleasure capturing their day!

Words of wisdom from the bride:

“Keep the groom involved! It surprised me how involved Matt wanted to be with things. I would make a lot of decisions but leaning on him when I didn’t know what to do ended up being very helpful.
If you are planning with parents or family, look for places where they can help make decisions especially if it’s something they are paying for. I can be so controlling but sometimes other people want to be involved in the decisions…and while they shouldn’t pick something like your dress…having
them involved in wine selections or table décor can make everyone feel involved and invested!
Don’t settle. If you want something there is always a way to make it happen!”
